Here’s another example. From the original creditor (the bank that plucked the money out of thin air), this was passed through the hands of six collection agencies and solicitors. (See a small sample of the correspondence here). This was in the days when the only way I knew how to deal with them was to try and pay as much as I could – when I thought they were in the right and I owed them some obligation. Once I saw through the smoke and mirrors, they were ultimately silenced with a single letter that brought this result:

Natwest Final
They say they have returned the account to the original creditor, but the fact that they have failed to collect when challenged on the legality of their claim leaves the creditor in a weak position. What can they do? Maybe they’ll sell it to another unsuspecting collection agency. I wait with interest, but meanwhile I’m taking the next steps – the results will be given out to subscribers and published here if the website is still up.
Here’s another – a £5563.72 ‘debt’ that just evaporated:

I’ve made mistakes in the past and have got into trouble with banks and credit card companies. I thought I had become pretty good at fending off the collection agencies – pay what I could afford, then stop when things became too tight. The trouble was they then simply packaged up my details with a lot of others and sold them on to another collection agency further down the line. Every so often when this happened there would be a fresh lot of intimidating letters and phone calls and the process would start over.
I didn’t realise that each time I paid, I was reviving the original ‘debt’. This meant that mine was a valuable commodity for them to sell on. I was one of the gullible unfortunates that gave them a permanent income – until I got wise and started fighting back.
I’ve done my research, taken good advice and found ways to get rid of them permanently. There’s nothing like the thrill of winning when that letter arrives saying they’re closing your case and taking no further action.
As soon as they come up against someone who knows their dirty tricks, they know the game’s up and they simply go away to torment some other poor wretch who knows no better than to try and pay them. What they do is extortion – plain and simple.
They know they will get a good percentage of suckers to pay up. The more intimidating they are, the more they get people to pay. All of them are willing to bend or break the law, but they know that there will always be some who have sufficient knowledge to outwit them. Make sure you are one of the few.
I knew I had to get this out to other people in the same position as me, so I decided there and then to write this website. Why should a corrupt and unscrupulous financial industry have it all their own way?
