05. Rules of the Game

Rule Number 1: DON’T SPEAK TO THEM.

Rule Number 2: DON’T SPEAK TO THEM.

Rule Number 3: DON’T SPEAK TO THEM.

Unless you are very experienced, collection agents will trick you into making a commitment, which is the last thing you want. When they first contact you they have just bought the debt from the original lender (who conjured the money out of thin air). They don’t know you and they don’t have the original creditor’s file – all they have is a list of names and amounts. Yours is just one amongst hundreds, maybe thousands of others.

The best operators will often be quite pleasant to begin with, but you may be able to detect a certain menace. They are not messing about and they will stop at nothing – after all, they’re paid on results. They will note anything you say and start to build a file on you. As soon as you make any kind of commitment or agreement, they will start to put pressure on you. No matter how polite they are, do NOT have a conversation with them.

Here’s a good way to deal with them. They are legally obliged to ensure they are talking to the right person, so they need to ask some ’security questions’. Just tell them that, as they have called out of the blue, you need to ask them some questions for your security. Ask:

What is your name?

What company do you represent?

Can you give me any proof of who you are?

They can’t of course, so just say:

I’m sorry, I don’t give out any information to people I don’t know. If your company has any business with me, or wishes to have any business with me, please put it in writing and it will get a prompt response. Any further unsolicited phone calls will be regarded as harassment and dealt with according to the law. Do you intend to harass me?

Print out this card and keep it near the phone.

Or you can use my free ‘Stop The Phone Calls’ letter.

If they should send somebody to your house, don’t let them in. Tell them you have some doubt about the legality of the claim and will be contesting it. Tell them you will respond promptly to any letter and you are keeping a record of the correspondence. If you feel nervous about speaking to them, just show them this card. Keep it handy for unwelcome visitors.

Whatever you do, keep your cool and have some fun with them.

Your job is almost done

Here’s what you do next:

All you have to do now is send the latest correspondence to me and I will deal with it, leaving them to run for cover. I write the letters as if they have come from you – all you have to do is pass any replies to back to me. Normally one letter will bring a reply saying they are dropping your case and closing your account. They won’t waste their time on anyone who knows their dirty secrets.

If you have already been fending them off for a while, or even if you’ve come to an arrangement, don’t worry. As you can see from my experience, one letter will sent them running for cover.

Obviously I can only deal with a limited number at any one time, so this website will be taken down as soon as I have enough people to give good service to. It will not be re-opened until their needs are met and I have more vacancies – if that ever happens.

I’ve had plenty of experience of these vermin. I’ve never been made bankrupt, but I know how bad it feels to be on the receiving end of telephone threats and intimidation. I decided to make my information available so that others did not have to endure that misery.

I also know what it means to be counting every penny to survive, so I’ve kept the cost at rock bottom. I was advised to charge £500 for this service because of its value, but I know that will be too much for most people in this situation, so I decided to cut it to the bone in the hope that you will want to use my other services in future.

My first letter will normally be sufficient to halt them in their tracks. My ridiculously modest charge of £47 is a tiny price to pay for the peace of mind of knowing that the debt has gone for ever. Once I get rid of the collection agencies, you then have the option of cleaning your credit record, or even claiming money back from the banks – that’s when it gets really interesting.

You will soon be getting a letter containing the magic words ‘Your account has been closed’

Get your life back!

You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. Lenders want an easy life – as long as most people are unaware they don’t have to pay collection agencies’ bogus claims, the companies can afford to write off those who put up a fight – after all, they’re screwing 90% pure profit out of the rest.

MY GUARANTEE – YOUR PROMISE:

If I do not get the collection agents off your back, I will give you an immediate refund.

When I do, you will me send the ‘account closed’ letter for inclusion on the website and tell your friends!

Thank you.
